SWITCH, the new headquarters for Simon, has been designed by renowned interior designer Antoni Arola, in collaboration with Jordi Tamayo. The architectural design was handled by b720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos, with respectful rehabilitation of the original factory, emphasizing its industrial heritage while modernizing it for contemporary use. ProtoPixel's Platform was key in achieving the desired lighting for the building.

State-of-the-art office spaces and lighting environments
The ProtoPixel Platform enabled adaptable lighting to meet the building's needs through its agnostic and interoperable capabilities, providing precise control and customization. Dynamic lighting was implemented on the façade, winter patio, and multipurpose wellness room (using DMX and SPI for RGBW control). In the showroom, indoor dynamic and functional luminaires were installed (SPI and DALI2 spotlights with Tunable White). The installation, mapped in the Project Tool, includes motion sensors for energy saving, Simon IO button panels for analog control, and the ProtoPixel App for digital control. All dynamic content was designed using the ProtoPixel Suite for project design, implementation, and deployment.

ProtoPixel manages a variety of luminaires with different control types: on/off, DALI2, SPI, and DMX for outdoor lighting on the patio. This comprehensive control ensures that all lighting needs are met efficiently and effectively.

Lighting is tailored to meet modern wellbeing standards for Office spaces. Equipped with daylight and motion sensors, the ProtoPixel Platform reduces energy consumption and is integrated with the building management system (BMS). This integration allows the BMS to send commands to ProtoPixel during emergencies, ensuring synchronized lighting across the building for coordinated responses. It also synchronizes with other interior factors like temperature and moment of the day, contributing to an integral building behavior. The blinds are also controlled via ProtoPixel, which is fundamental to creating dynamic spaces and light control as needed.
ProtoPixel's lighting platform plays a pivotal role in meeting these rigorous standards, efficiently optimizing energy consumption and enhancing user comfort throughout the building, guaranteeing serene, high-quality workspaces. The SWITCH project demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability, achieving both LEED Platinum and BREEAM certifications that underscore its exceptional environmental performance and energy efficiency.
